A striking looking plant with ovate leaves that produces unusual white flowers July-August, the leaves take on a pink tinge in autumn. It is best planted in water 15-25cm over the crown in full sun.
This striking plant has black banding horizontally on stems resembling porcupine quills. It is an excellent structural plant providing interest and contrast in the pond margins. It will thrive in boggy ground or pond edges with up to 15cms over the crown. This plant does well in sun to part shade. It is advisable to plant in a container to control the spread.
