This plant has heart shaped leaves and produces waxy buttercup like flowers in March-May. The plants will grow in the boggy edges of ponds and streams it will do well in shallow water 8-10cms over the crown. It will thrive in sun to part shade.
This striking plant has black banding horizontally on stems resembling porcupine quills. It is an excellent structural plant providing interest and contrast in the pond margins.
